optical illusions again

here are the optical illusions I posted a while ago linked again, they are slightly different to the original ones but the same ideas.

Stare at the dot in the middle and move away slowly.

How many of the white dots contain black dots?

Say the COLOUR not the word.

There we go

While I'm here I might as well give an update as to what's going on.

I'm still doing work with Sparky, who is currently very fat from the grass.  We're hopefully going to go to the beach soon and maybe a couple of jumping competitions, seems we're now part of a team!  However this team has never actually competed together yet...

I've just finished my first year of 6th form and have sat my AS exams.  The three modules I sat in January (biology, chemistry and maths) all came back as an A and hopefully the same will happen this time.  Problem is during my psychology exam I had a nasty cold which stunted my concentration span and I've convinced myself I've failed and will be resitting in januray =/  oh well, I suppose we won't know until August.  There was then a 2 week gap between that and my maths, chemistry and biology exams, during which I had the sickly end of the cold, a horrible chest infection and then in the week before my exams I went and got chicken pox.  So I had to sit in isolation.  It seems my immune system was down with the stress...  Oh well, I'm pretty confident about chem, bio and maths anyway

I've just finished 2 weeks work experience in a vets practice called Blythman and Partner's and am going to Tyne Vet Clinic for a week next week and then Aln Vets in Alnwick for a week the week after.  I'll be staying in a village near Alnwick with a friend who has a cottage there, and I am very much looking forward to the week away from my parents!  However I'm looking forward more to the experience as Aln Vets is a large animal practice, which is what I am more interested in, so it should be good .

I'll have been back from Alnwick for a week when I'll be off to York with my boyfriend, Dan, for 3 days, which I am also very much looking forward to.  I love York, I think it's a beautiful city and we're hoping to visit the monastry(I think it's the monastry...correct me if I'm wrong..), the dungeons and by my request to the park to feed the squirrels and pigeons by hand!

Anyway, I think that's all I have to say, it's been a while since I last blogged, seems this might be the start of it again!

Well, since getting the internet back i haven't actually been blogging as much as i expected due to exams and revision, so ill just go over some of the things I have been up to with mr sparky.

We have been to 2 shows this year.  At the minute I'm not going to win, just to get him used to the atmosphere so that once we get our own trailer I can start to take him showjumping.  In the first one he was placed 2nd in the coloured ridden class(although that was out of three...) and not placed in the under 16 ridden class.  St the second show unfortunately he wasnt placed for a number of reasons.  But again, I must stress that I am not a competitive person and at the minute it is all a learning curve.

We have been doing some more cross country.  Now, at the minute we usually walk between fences and then canter up to them.  My goal for the summer(especially as i have the long summer this year due to exam leave) is to get round the entire cross country in trot/canter/gallop.  As a result of this I am currently doing a lot of fittening work including lots of trot, canter and at least agallop every other day.

Well, thats all for now, I will try to be more of a regular from now on.

back in business

FINALLY, I am back on the internet.  This means that I will be blogging as much as possible from now on.

I've been trying a new thing with sparky lately.  He doesn't like to be wormed and i got a rather unpleasant kick last time, so ive been feeding him apple sauce out of a syringe for a couple of weeks with mixed results.  Some days he snatches it from me and others i get the same outcome as with the wormer.  But, oh well, babysteps.

 all for now, byebye

not as often as intended...

My intention of coming online twice or thrice a week was never succeeded apparantly.  My apologies to anyone who wasted their time checking my blog.  I have done a lot (with spark and without), in fact I could probably go on for pages and pages, but i must be brief.

  1. Vet came out.  Dust allergy, he was given medication, has changed from straw to shavings and from hay to haylage and is now getting a herbal supplement to help it.
  2. Jumping again.  Have jumped over 3' which is very good and we're hoping to get on the X country as sson as possible but alas british weather is back which means rain rain and more rain.
  3.  We have finally moved to the farm, which is very good for spark and he's rather liking his 10:00pm biscuit.
  4. GCSE results will be received on thursday(only german but im still panicking!).
  5. Im helping at the Riding for the disabled(rda) centre in washington 2 days a week and even got my dad a riding lesson which was...entertaining..
thats as much as i can thinl of for now, so goodbye and see you soon.

no more internet

The internet has been disconnected at home in preparation for the move so I will not be bloggin as often as usual.  I will probably be able to blog a couple of tmes through the week in my mam's office(as I am doing now) but entries will be much less until internet is in the caravan.

Sparky's behaviour is better although he's still naughty to catch, but riding he is good.  Now must be off

*screams*

Sparky's gone back to working himself AGAIN.  I think it's because he now knows about the horses in the nearby field and wants to say hello(which he will not be doing because most of them have runny eyes and noses and I'm not having him get one too).  He had 1 tantrum on the way to the field and 2 tantrums on the way back and all the time he's been in his stable he's been pacing back and forth looking over the gate.  I'm quite happy for him to pace to an extent because it means he's getting a bit of exercise.

Didn't ride today, because I was at friend's house for her birthday from 12-6 so just didn't have time really, and it was wet and muddy.

P.s. If anyone can tell me how to delete the guestbook, I am ghetting rather sick of deleting (some rather rude)advertising entries.

chicken chasing

Is what I did today.  I followed my dad down to the allotments as I was rather bored what with spark in the field and having spent half an hour on my bike.  I saw a hen go into our field and then saw another one already in there.  So I went and chased them back into the allotments.  My dad's friend pipped up "you can have them if you catch them" so i set about trying to catch them.  I followed one into bracken and nettles with it going "broooock brock brock" the entire time.  Chickens are rather bad at hiding, they just shout all the time.  I never caught it but got stung on the knee.  It is now my mission to catch a chicken on the allotments.

I rode Spark in the farmer's field as he's said I can until our field gets cut(his was cut about a week ago so is short).  I wanted to divert his attention away from the horses in the opposite field as much as possible and i succeeded until my dad found an abandoned nest and shouted me to come look.  So, Spark saw the horses and just stood, pinned to the spot, staring.  I've decided that I'm going to use the opportunity of exercising him in the farmers fields as practise for cross country later this year, to get him used to cantering and working in strange fields.  Oh yes, the grass in the field is still quite yellow after being cut, so sparky decided it needed fertilised...

I said I would put a picture of the guiness curly tail up today, but cant really be bothered to mess on with adobe right now, so it'll have to wait til tomorrow.
